A reader emailed requesting we reprint an excerpt from an essay I wrote several years ago entitled, “Science & Man”.
“One day mankind will be struck by a fact arising out of his exploration of space, that he is entirely alone. Then he will look at himself only to realize that though different in many ways, all human beings are products of one beginning. Perhaps then he will see how important, yet tenuous his existence is, and maybe then he will realize how truly wrong it is to murder children before they are born and each other after.”
